The last days of spring and the arrival of good temperatures are the perfect occasion to taste the new vintages of Altanza Blanco and Altanza Rosado , two very special ‘labels’ for the Riojan winery for two reasons. On the one hand, because they were the first ‘different’ to be part of this great family where reds reign; and secondly, because they are also the first to reach the market with the “Altanza” brand: a timeless, unique and powerful classic, which reaffirms the modern character of the winery.

Altanza Rosado 2018

On the market since 2004 -under the name of Lealtanza-, this new vintage, which has a new name, is characterized by its flavor, full of nuances, fresh and fruity . At first glance, its beautiful strawberry color with coral touches, bright and clean, is striking, which confirms the expressive capacity of tempranillo , and on the nose, its aroma of red fruits such as ripe strawberry, raspberry, cherry and gummy that give way to some lactic and banana notes. On the palate it is meaty and round, with sweet and well balanced tannins . A vintage in which the acidic red fruits appear again, which make it a pleasant and appetizing wine. And due to its freshness, with the rise in temperatures it is even more appetizing, in addition to combining perfectly with summer dishes : vegetables, fish, creative salads … To enjoy it in its maximum splendor it is recommended to serve it between 6 and 8º.

Undoubtedly, a wine that promises and conquers, as did its predecessor, winner of a Gold Medal at the Lyon International Competition.

Altanza Blanco 2018

Since its inception (2010) it has been characterized as an aromatic, balanced, fresh and unctuous wine that conquers and whose color, lemon yellow, clean and bright, reveals its freshness. This monovarietal harmonizes the generosity of the aromas of Sauvignon blanc , a variety of grape for which the winery was the first to bet within the DOCa Rioja, mainly due to its aromatic qualities. On the nose, tropical fruits such as pineapple and banana stand out, to then suggest more citrus notes such as lemon or grapefruit with floral hints where jasmine predominates. Some touches that are enhanced in the mouth and allow a pleasant and fresh entry , which make this Rioja the perfect gastronomic complement due to its creaminess and persistent finish. In fact, it is ideal to enjoy it with a good cheese, seafood and fish fondue, so if we combine summer, seafood cocktail, terrace and Altanza Blanco, there cannot be a better plan.

Its predecessor, the 2017 vintage, also had a prize: Gold Medal from the Concours Mondial du Saugvinion.
